Environmental Surveillance Services

Increased pressure from both community and environmental regulators for industrial operations to be accountable for their impacts has prompted an increase in the demand for visual surveillance.   Benchmark Monitoring supply a range of cameras that are low maintenance, can be equipped with pan and zoom functions (PTZ) and configured and controlled through a web interface. The user can therefore access surveillance footage from any internet ready device via secure login enabling remote monitoring of site conditions.  Cameras are specifically for outdoor surveillance with 720P Hi  Res and built in illuminator day to night function.  Cameras may be supplied integrated with BMM monitoring stations (e.g. dust management monitoring unit,  noise hound or Kaboom) or fabricated in a standalone format complete with on board memory, coms hardware, weatherproof stainless steel housing and solar power system ready for deployment at site.

Standalone installations

  • cameras to monitor remote discharge points enabling surveillance without driving out to site,

  • cameras positioned to capture visible emissions crossing boundary fence lines

  • cameras to observe operations (may be pole or trailer mounted)

Integrated installations

Displacement triggered camera monitoring caves of significant heritage value in Pilbara

  • cameras triggered to capture visual footage of blast ‘events’ upon exceedance of a trigger vibration detected within the blast monitor network
  • camera and wind site – camera mounted with wind sensor enabling triggering of event recording via specific wind speeds/directions (may be pole or trailer mounted with wind sensor mounted on telescopic mast).
  • Noise monitoring systems – Benchmark Monitoring’s Noise Hound comes with an optional camera that can be configured to record continuously or to dispatch image or video clips to specified recipient list according to detection of exceedance of the noise level trigger criteria or disturbance of vibration sensors (e.g. rail sensors).
  • Integrated Dust management systems – intelligent network of dust monitors, cameras and dust suppression measures. Cameras record continuously and dispatch images or video clips to specified recipient list according to dust level trigger criteria being exceeded at monitoring sites.

High resolution images can be captured at the input of a customisable trigger (i.e., detection of vibration, dust level, movement etc.) or configured to take periodic snapshots.

Images can be stored locally for later access or delivered to users via FTP, SMS or email.  Alternatively high definition video can be buffered for up to a month enabling retrospective interrogation and extraction of video or snapshots.
